i've been in nyc one and a half day, and i've already managed to screw up my cell phone and my computer. is there some sort of bermuda triangle in queens? i got me a pre-paid t-mobile subscription for the phone, and at the time of purchase, the guy selling it to me gave the impression that the subscription would allow me to send emails and text messages. so far, neither of those services work. so, no flickr feed and no sms the family back home.

the good part of it is that the people at nyu are very friendly, they helped setting up a temporary computer, and my host took us out for a nice meal.

edit: my computer has now been fixed by sysadmin ali; she's the best! and no, the above photo was not taken in nyc, it's from örsundsbro, which is pretty much as far from nyc as you can get.
