it's been almost a year since these shots of leonard in our kitchen. this time, it's him in the sofa an ordinary weekday afternoon after day care.

edit. there's been questions about the post-processing of the above photo. so here goes; at the time of shooting this picture, i decided i wanted a high-key look to it. the surroundings are evenly coloured, that is, a white couch, a white table, a white wall. i used center weighted metering and bounced the flash off the ceiling. when "developing" the photo in capture one, i increased the exposure by a stop and a half as well as increased the contrast until some minor details in the background were blown out. then i turned to photoshop and adjusted levels and curves, as well as knocked up the saturation slightly. since the catchlight in his eyes wasn't really noticeable, due to the tilt of the camera and since i didn't use a bouncer, i dodged his eyes a little. not much. then i selectively sharpened his eyes using unsharp mask, and resized the image to fit the web. then i sharpened it all again, and used the blur tool to smooth the edges that were too sharp. finally, i saved for web. that's it.
