a couple of years ago, a fourteen year old boy died after being hit by ice falling from a roof in central stockholm. the court ruled the real estate owner responsible for causing his death by not removing the ice. the effect? real estate owners block the sidewalks so as to prevent people from walking under icicles like the one on the above photo, and that's about it. people are now walking in the middle of the road, competing with the cars for space. sucks.
