last week, i sent in the papers required for getting the degree. based on what people around me said, i figured it'll take a month or two before i got it. according to the same people, a month or two is considered quick within the academic context. so, guess who was surprised beyond recognition when the degree certificate landed in my mail today? yup, that's right. me. i'm now officially a phd in natural language processing.
